Heavenly Honey Butter

Father Time Heavenly Honey Butter

This simple, quick recipe is one of the easiest ways to turn heads and capture compliments at a social gathering. And it goes incredibly well with Father Time Wonderful Wheat bread. You can’t really go wrong with these pure, quality ingredients that are known for their delivery of delicious flavors. Mixed together they make an absolutely heavenly combination. We also often like to mix in Pumpkin Pie spices like ginger and cloves to create a festive fall flavor.

This recipe easily stores in the freezer if you’d like to make a batch and save some for the future.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Butter

  • 1/3 Cup Honey

  • 1/8 teaspoon Kosher Salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Paste

  • 1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon

  • 1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup

Method

  1. Start with a dish that you can use to easily fit and stir the ingredients as you add them.  A fork is often the best utensil to use for stirring and mixing as you go.

  2. Soften the butter so that there aren’t any large clumps.  It doesn’t need to be completely liquified, just softened.

  3. Add the honey and stir.  A nice, local, raw honey will be best.  You can also adjust the ratio of honey-to-butter.  Add less honey if you prefer a stronger butter flavor and consistency.

  4. Add the kosher salt and stir.  This will give your honey butter a nice hint of saltiness.  You can omit this step if you prefer or if you don’t have kosher salt.  I wouldn’t recommend table salt.

  5. Add the vanilla paste and stir.  If you don’t have vanilla paste, you can use vanilla extract.  But vanilla paste is better in general in nearly every use than vanilla extract, so you might want to try and find some for the future.  It’s fantastic.

  6. Add the cinnamon and stir.  We prefer Vietnamese cinnamon for its vibrant flavor.

  7. Add the maple syrup and stir.  You can vary the amount depending on your desired flavor and consistency.  You can also use maple syrup to replace some of the honey if desired.  Just keep in mind it won’t be as sweet as honey.

  8. After mixing in all of the ingredients you can transfer the honey butter to an attractive serving dish for company.

  9. This honey butter goes wonderfully well with either freshly sliced bread or toasted bread.

  10. Get a nice, thick layer and enjoy!  You can also use this as a sweet condiment over cinnamon rolls, on french toast or pancakes, or any number of other uses.
